Autry Center to offer Sizzling Summer Nights Latin band series for all ages

The Autry National Center sets the stage, polishes the dance floors, and breaks out the bar this summer for another exciting season of Sizzling Summer Nights featuring the hottest Latin bands in Southern California. This all-ages dance party provides the perfect setting for couples, dancers, girls’ night out, and families, all in one place!

Thursday nights in July and August (5 nights in July and 4 in August) are filled with the scintillating sounds of mambo, son, Latin jazz, charanga, and Afro-Cuban beats. See top Latin bands in a fun, casual, energetic setting. The stellar lineup of bands brings high-energy that is fun for dancers. Even if you think you can’t dance, our salsa instructor, Trish Connery of Dance Chatter, will show you how. Plus, visit the museum and museum store until 8:00 p.m. and view our current exhibitions, Sparkle and Twang: Marty Stuart’s American Musical Odyssey and Granite Frontiers: A Century of Yosemite Climbing.

Bands include living legends of the salsa scene as well as the latest and greatest groups around, including Yari Moré, Francisco Aguabella, Orquesta Son Mayor, Lucky 7, crowd favorite Johnny Polanco y su Conjunto Amistad, and more! Plus, join us on August 13 for a very special celebration in honor of Susie Hansen Latin Band’s 20th anniversary celebration.

A taco and drink bar will serve up the best margaritas in Griffith Park. The cafe and bar open at 5:00 p.m., and the museum and museum store close at 8:00 p.m. Complimentary dance lessons and a separate dance floor for kids guarantee fun for all!
