Enya to release best of album and DVD

Best-selling Irish vocalist Enya will release The Very Best Of on Warner Bros. Records on December 1st in the U.S. The album will be released internationally, minus the bonus track “Oiche Chiuin (Chorale),” on November 23rd.

Capturing Enya’s beguiling mix of classical choral sounds, Celtic atmosphere, and pop sensibility, The Very Best Of brings together, for the first time, all the highlights of her entire 22-year solo career, from “Boadicea” (off her 1987 self-titled debut) to her international breakthrough hit “Orinoco Flow” (from 1988’s Watermark) to the sad serenity of “Only Time,” which was adopted as a comforting anthem of hope after 9/11. Along the way, the album visits a remarkable collection of enduring favorites, such as “Anywhere Is,” “Caribbean Blue,” “Book of Days” and “Amarantine.” It also provides something new in the shape of a stripped-down, previously unreleased version of “Aniron” which was featured in Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Rings.

The Very Best Of Enya will also be available in a special CD/DVD edition beginning December 1st. This package is the most comprehensive Enya DVD to date, collecting all thirteen of her music videos and making them available commercially for the first time ever in the U.S. In addition, the DVD features an interview, behind-the-scenes footage, and two “making of” mini-documentaries about the creation of the “Caribbean Blue” and “Only Time” videos.

Over the course of her two-decade plus career, Enya has become one of the world’s most successful musicians with more than 70 million album sales to her name and an array of honors including four Grammy Awards, six World Music Awards, and the Ivor Novello International Achievement honor that was jointly awarded with her close friends and partners in music, Nicky and Roma Ryan.
