Born in Budapest, Hungary, László Mezo gained national recognitionwhen he won First Prize in the “Kertész Ottó Memorial Competition” in 1998. Since then he has been a top prize winner in numerous other competitions including first prize of the 2008 Ima Hogg International Competition in Houston.
László holds Master’s degrees from the Liszt Ferenc University of Music in Budapest and the Hochschule für Musikund Theater München and recently graduated from the class of Ralph Kirshbaum at the USC Thornton School. He joined the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in July 2008. His recent CD recording of David Popper’s works, including many first recordings, is on the Hungaroton label.
