Get ready for the journey of your life. ..let your imagination run wild and hop on the magical train ride on Saturday, December 19th for the 3rd Annual Merry Merry Movie featuring a free movie screening of the “Polar Express.” The movie screening will take place at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 theatres, 673 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, at 10:30 a.m. The family-friendly event is free and all-ages.
Following the movie screening there will be a holiday concert by the St. Lucy’s Big Christmas band at the Vroman’s courtyard. The St. Lucy’s Big Christmas band is made up of professional musicians, music teachers, and recording artists who come together once a year and play during the holiday season.
“During these tough economic times it is important that we give back to the community whichever way we can. The free holiday movie screening is the perfect. We hope that the community joins us for the Merry Merry Movie,” says Paul Jacoy, Playhouse District Association President.
This year the classic award winning children’s book celebrates its 25th year anniversary. The book written by Chris Van Allsburg brings the magical spirits of Christmas to children and families. . In 2004, the digitally animated movie was released starring Tom Hanks.
The holiday celebration continues with another holiday concert on Sunday, December 13th. The Los Quatro Amigos Sax Quartet will be playing holiday tunes from 12 until 2 pm at the Vroman’s Courtyard. Stroll on by and sing along to holiday classics.
