Popular classic rock band Sweet will be performing at “A Benefit Concert For Sophia” to raise funds for the outstanding medical bills of the lead guitarist’s baby daughter.

Sweet—“Ballroom Blitz,” “Fox on the Run,” “Love Is Like Oxygen,” “Little Willy,” “Hellraiser,” “Teenage Rampage,” “Blockbuster,” “Action”—will be joined by The Band From TV, Keith Emerson and his son Aaron Emerson, Foreigner’s Kelly Hansen, The Howard Leese Band, Andy and Tiffany Madidian, Toto’s David Paich, DIO’s Rudy Sarzo, AC/DC’s Chris Slade, Bohemian Child’s Robert Luozzi and ThundHerStruck for the Wednesday, January 6th 7:30-11 p.m. concert at The Avalon in Hollywood, California.

The Band From TV features Greg Grunberg (“Heros”), James Denton (“Desperate Housewives”), Hugh Laurie (“House”), Bob Guiney (“The Bachelor”) and Bonnie Somerville (NYPD, Gross Pointe.) Other special guests will be added shortly.

Stuart and Christina Smith’s daughter, Sophia Stormy, was born in Los Angeles pre-maturely on April 28th this year and needed immediate same-day life-saving surgery. On December 15, Sophia had a second surgery to correct other disorders. She is resting comfortably and, once again, came through surgery with flying colors! The surgeries, of which she will need one more, have resulted in large medical bills that the benefit hopes to raise substantial funds for.

Tickets can be purchased through the benefit website www.Help4Sophia.org, which can also be reached thru the Sweet website: www.thesweetband.com. Tickets are $55 plus a $7.53 handling fee. The concert is presented by Avalon Hollywood and is open to an audience of all ages. A preview of the silent auction is also featured on the website.

Sweet is led by founder bassist/vocalist Steve Priest. Sweet band members also include Joe Retta (lead vocals,) Stevie Stewart (keyboards) and Richie Onori (drums.)
