Mariah Carey to tour

For Mariah Carey's legions of North American fans, the long wait is over, as the international superstar announces her first major tour itinerary in more than three years. Following a festive New Year's Eve kick-off at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the "Angels Advocate" Tour begins Jan. 2, 2010, at the Borgata in Atlantic City, N.J., and visits Los Angeles on February 23, 2010 for a Gibson Amphitheatre performance.

Honey B. Fly, the official Mariah Carey Fan Club, will be offering exclusive member pre-sales for all show dates. Fans can get details on the official Web site, MariahCarey.com.

Tickets for the Gibson Amphitheatre show go on sale to the general public Saturday, December 19th at 1 PM.

Get tickets at LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster retail outlets (including all Macy’s, FYE, Wherehouse Music & Ritmo Latino locations) and charge-by-phone: 800-745-3000.

The 8-week, 19-city "Angels Advocate" Tour is the first major tour by Mariah Carey since The "Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour" of August through October 2006. The opening act on the "Angels Advocate" Tour will be RydazNrtist, a new R&B group signed to Nick Cannon's NCredible Entertainment.

MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL, Mariah Carey's 12th studio album, follows her multi-platinum E=MC2 (2008), and her worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (2005).

The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. Soundscan's biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured "We Belong Together" (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and "Don't Forget About Us," Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively.

Three years later, "Touch My Body" (from E=MC2) became her 18th #1 Hot 100 hit, surpassing Elvis Presley's previous record of 17 #1 Hot 100 Hits.

Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits. The success of E=MC2 brought total sales of Mariah's albums, singles and videos to more than 175 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.
