Danish metal quartet Volbeat has entered in to a formal agreement with Primary Wave Talent Management. The company will serve as representation for the band in North America.
Since the Danish metal quartet’s formation in October, 2001, VOLBEAT has steadily risen to become one of the major attractions in the European scene. In an age of retreads, the band has been offering a unique blend of metallic hard rock alongside inspired Elvis-tinged melodies, and the world has taken notice. They recently entered in to a licensing agreement with Universal Germany, following significant success with Netherlands-based independent label Mascot Records.
The working title for their fourth studio album is Beyond Hell – Above Heaven, with a planned release scheduled for September 6, 2010. All three of the band’s prior releases from Mascot Records have been certified gold in Denmark, while Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008) and The Strength / The Sound / The Songs (2005) achieved platinum sales.
Most recently the band toured North America as support for Metallica, adding a sold-out headline Los Angeles show to the itinerary at the Troubadour.
Volbeat is Michael Poulsen (Vocals / Guitar), Anders Kjølholm (Bass), Jon Larsen (Drums) and Thomas Bredahl (Guitar).
Primary Wave Talent Management’s Rick Smith shared,”Volbeat makes me wonder if Glen Danzig grew up in the 50's or if Chet Atkins was in Megadeth, would it hold a candle to the repertoire this band has delivered. It is fresh and we could not be more thrilled to be a part of their career.”
His partner Scott Frazier added, “All bands draw influences from other artists, but few can capture those influences and deliver a sound that is fresh and truly their own like Volbeat. I was drawn to the band's music first and foremost, but after seeing what these guys do live, that sealed it for me personally. We look forward to sharing with North America what the rest of the world has already discovered.”
Volbeat singer Michael Poulsen offers, “We couldn’t be happier about the signing with Primary Wave Talent Management! From early on we realized that this was the management we wanted to partner with. We felt like they understood our vision and on top they’re cool dudes. We’re very excited about the collaboration with our new North American management, and are indeed looking forward to take Northern America by storm!”
Future plans for the band’s return to the U.S. will be announced once formalized.
