Javelin and Jamaican Qyeens in LA May 3

NY/LA duo Javelin and Detroit duo Jamaican Queens will be performing on Friday, May 3rd at The Satellite. Doors at 8:30pm. $10. 21+
Javelin's new album Hi Beams is out now on Luaka Bop, and debuted
at Pitchfork 'Advance.' From warehouse parties in Providence and Brooklyn, to performances at the Natural History Museum and The Whitney, "bi-coastal sound scavengers" (XLR8R) and cousins George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk have toured with Yeasayer, Sleigh Bells, Future Islands, Matt & Kim, Warpaint, and put its distinctive touch on tracks for Cee-Lo, Warpaint, Future Islands, Darwin Deez and HEALTH and done production work for hip-hop moguls and pop divas. "Javelin prove they're pushing their own pop boundaries on their brand new album 'Hi Beams.'" - Stereogum
Jamaican Queens are making their west coast debut behind acclaimed new album, Wormfood.
Ryan Spencer and Adam Pressley (Prussia)'s fusion of melody and knowledge of underground music and production has given way to their "odd pop" sound, influenced by the southern rap beats of Three 6 Mafia, Gucci Mane, and Young Jeezy, as well as the experimentation of Brian Eno and Lee Scratch Perry. They just sold out their first NY show and KCRW's been playing their single 'Kids Get Away,' which has been praised by Vice/Noisey, Black Book, Filter, Impose and more. "'Wormfood' is a deliciously schizoid album, as whimsical and as chemical as love itself...as a debut it's fearless." -TinyMixTapes
