Power of the Planet-Ice screening in Pasadena April 27

Power of the Planet - Ice, a high-definition documentary, will be screened as part of the presentation Far From a Cold Case: Solving the Riddles of Ice on Planet Earth on Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium. This program is part of Caltech’s Science Saturdays series.

Even an M&M can survive the palm of your hand, but ice cannot. Yet despite its ephemeral appearance, ice is one of the most powerful actors to shape our world. What is an “ice age,” and are we in one now? And where does ice fit into a changing climate? This program will explore these questions.

Ajay Limaye, a graduate student in geological and planetary science, will introduce the film and guide the post-screening discussion.

Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Tickets to this performance are priced at $5.00 (unreserved seating).  Tickets can be purchased at the Caltech Ticket Office, 332 South Michigan Avenue, Pasadena.

Beckman Auditorium is located on Michigan Avenue, south of Del Mar Boulevard, in  Pasadena.  For information, call the Caltech Ticket Office at (626) 395-4652.
