B'z to be inducted into Hollywood's Rockwalk

LEGENDARY JAPANESE GROUP B’Z TO BE INDUCTED INTO HOLLYWOOD’S ROCKWALK

WHO: Formed by guitarist Tak Matsumoto and vocalist Koshin Inaba on September 21, 1988 the B’z have sold over 75.8 million units in Japan alone making them the best selling artist in Japanese history. Creating a unique two man band sound with music composed by Tak and lyrics written by Koshi the B’z have released 15 albums and 43 singles over their 19 year career. Thirty-nine of those singles reached the top of the National Oricon Single Chart in their first week of release. In addition to being a great song writer and the producer of B’z, Tak Matsumoto is one of the most renowned guitarists in all of Asia and has his own Gibson U.S.A. signature model, the “Tak Matsumoto Les Paul.” The B’z 16th original studio album will be released this December and the B’z will celebrate their 20th anniversary will a 59 date tour of Japan in 2008. Steve Vai will also be in attendance.

WHAT: B’z will be inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk the only sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues and R&B. Their handprints and signatures will reside alongside other equally accomplished musicians and innovators such as Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Bonnie Raitt, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, John Lee Hooker and Earth Wind & Fire among numerous others.
