Michael Hill releases "My Blue Christmas"

My Blue Christmas is the new album from Texas-based singer, songwriter Michael Hill. This seasonal release sees Michael's remarkable voice interpreting songs from across the whole spectrum of Christmas songs, from carols such as Silent Night and The First Noel to popular favourites like Blue Christmas and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
My Blue Christmas promises to bring a fresh new sound to Christmas As always, the centrepiece of the album (Michael's third solo project) are the vocals. Smooth, and textured, Michael's voice moved Garageband.com to comment: "Inspirational! The lead vocal reminds me of Steve Perry from Journey."
Michael began singing in public at the tender age of three in Dallas, Texas. In high school and college he was a member of many musical groups and won numerous awards. His musical apprenticeship was furthered by travelling with the prestigious Air Force Entertainment Touring Group, "Tops in Blue", bringing music and entertainment to U.S Air Force bases all over the world. He cites a diverse range of musical influences, including Elvis, The Beatles, Thomas Dolby, Kansas and Styx.
Michael's unique sound is also influence by his expertise for the technical side of music making - his other passion besides singing. He is a consultant and systems designer of sound and video systems for church worship. This understanding of recording equipment adds a further dimension to his music, which comes across startlingly on My Blue Christmas, and at any Michael Hill concert. In addition, Michael is an arranger and producer and has also been writing worship music for the past five years.
Today, Michael is Worship Pastor at Trinity Fellowship Church of Rockwall. He can be found there leading Christmas services over the festive period. My Blue Christmas benefits from a team of backing musicians including Daran Deshazo and Brad Stephens on guitars, Jeff Plant and Chuck Rainey on bass, Bob Singleton on keys and Sean McCurly on drums.
