Skate and music event to benefit Adventures in Missions

Local L.A. Talent Come Together to Raise Funds for Relief Work Abroad Skateboarding, Art and Music Featured at Venice Methodist Church on November 30

What: A young, local professional, Jennifer Fodor will feature some of the best local Los Angeles talent at her annual benefit to raise funds for relief work abroad. Attendees will have chance to listen to hear music by The Procession (Indie, Pop, Rock), Zane Carney (Rock, Jazz), Rai (Indie, Acoustic, Pop), Still Watters Run Deep (Alternative Country) and Feedus (Rock/Reggae). Plus, there will be an evening event consisting of a silent auction, live music, autographed skate decks and more, all donated by local artists, musicians and professional skaters.

Where: Venice Methodist Church 1020 Victoria Ave, Venice, Calif. (Just north of Venice off of Lincoln)

When: 7:30 PM, Friday November 30th

Cost: $15.00 donation gets you in the door

Why: In January 2008, Jennifer Fodor will volunteer with the non-profit organization Adventures In Missions (www.adventures.org ) and travel for 11 months in 11 different countries assisting in humanitarian projects pertaining to each country's need. The central part of the trip focuses on working with orphans, caring for those dying of HIV/AIDS, and working with earthquake and hurricane relief efforts. In addition to helping in significant ways, Fodor will use her skills in filmmaking to document different stories from around the world. The overall mission is to help individuals in each of the countries and to raise more awareness of what is happening internationally.To make this trip possible, Fodor must raise $13,800. The purpose of the November 30 event is to kick off her fundraising efforts and draw others to a greater awareness of relief work through three things most cherished in L.A. – skateboarding, art and music.
