Final stops for Portugal. The Man

Portugal. The Man wraps up their daunting 2007 tour schedule at the end of November (remaining dates below) and if nothing else, the band has earned a permanent place in the hearts of a boatload of media and fans, laying an impressive foundation with their live shows and their sophomore album, "Church Mouth" (Fearless Records, July 24, 2007).

"Mash up the rootsy grit of the Black Keys and the boundless eclecticism of rock-era Radiohead, add in a double dose of analog psychedelia, and you'll have something like 'Church Mouth,' the second full-length album from Portugal. The Man, an Alaskan trio with a sound the size of Texas." -- Cleveland Scene

"...a prog-rock monster packed with tricky chord changes and stylistic shifts...full of esoteric imagery."-- Boston Phoenix

"I can honestly say any fans of Muse, The Mars Volta, Pink Floyd, old Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, or The White Stripes would enjoy Church Mouth; which makes me regret not giving them a listen sooner. I don't know if I've done this with a review yet, but five fucking stars."-- Punkbands.com

"Everything about the band, from their spontaneous live shows to their whimsical album artwork to that pesky period in their name (don't ask), reflects the singular vision of frontman John Baldwin Gourley, a guy who can channel the energy of an old bluesman even while his band is cranking out the most mind-altering psych-rock this side of the Mars Volta."-- Metromix

"If Cream and the Mars Volta camped out together on the Alaskan tundra with nothing but an eyedropper of liquid LSD, their instruments and an electrical generator, they might have produced something like 'Church Mouth.'"-- Radar

"'Church Mouth,' a guitar-flanked pop record that's catchier than a floor coated with flypaper."-- Philadelphia City Paper
