Nazanin releases new song with proceeds to benefit Stop Child Executions

It was announced today that Bodog Music recording artist Nazanin will be releasing her newly recorded Christmas song titled "On Christmas Day." The song can be downloaded from the Bodog e-store by going to www.bodoglife.net/nazanin. In the true spirit of the season of giving, the cost of the song is being offered on a donation basis with 100% of the proceeds going to the Stop Child Executions campaign.
The Stop Child Executions Campaign was co-founded by Nazanin to raise awareness about this issue, and more importantly to put an end to one of the most heinous manifestations of the death penalty -- its use against children. In addition to being available by donation via the Bodog e-store, the single will also be available through iTunes.
"While we are gathered by the fire singing Christmas songs, I want the children in the cold prison cells in Iran to know that they are not forgotten. I want them to feel hope that they have another chance at life. We are a completely volunteer based organization, so every penny goes directly to the campaign," said Bodog Music artist and Stop Child Executions co-founder Nazanin Afshin-Jam.
According to the United Nations, a child is a person under the age of 18. Despite the fact that the government of Iran has signed international covenants that forbid them from executing anyone who has allegedly committed an offence before the age of 18, they continue to do so. Amnesty International has documented 24 executions of child offenders in Iran since 1990. In many cases, these minors have been imprisoned until the age of 18 and then executed. Currently, there are over 80 minors on death row in Iran.
Over the years, human rights activist Nazanin has witnessed child offenders in Iran being saved and even released from prison through international pressure as seen in the cases of Nazanin Fatehi and Sina Paymard.
Nazanin has also released the second single "I Do" from her current album, Someday, which is nearing the Top 30 on the AC Charts. The first single "Someday" reached the number 7 spot on the FMQB Adult Contemporary Charts.
