Oil documentary to screen

Free screening of the documentary A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash.

Thursday, November 8th, 2007 at 7 p.m.

Conscientious Projector examines what will happen when the oil runs out. Cheap, plentiful oil is already on the decline. Modern civilization's addiction to fossil fuels has put the world on a collision course with geology that will threaten what we have come to know as our American way of life. Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack's compelling and persuasive film tells the story of peak oil and a coming crash that will require the reinvention of our industrial society if it is to survive. See what some of the world's top scientists and experts from across the political spectrum have to say about the looming crisis. A community discussion will follow the film.

The Armory is located at 145 N. Raymond in Old Pasadena. Admission is free and the facility is accessible to disabled persons.

Conscientious Projector is a collaboration between All Saints Church's Sustainable World Ministry and Imagine-Action-Center for the Theatre of the Oppressed in association with The Armory Center for the Arts. Once again, we are pleased to present this screening in cooperation with Robert Greenwald's Brave New Theaters program.
