Today I received the e-mail that I hoped would never come. Greg Pineda has died. He was a member of Sierra Madre's beloved band, Aluminum Marshmallow, and just an all-around great guy. Greg's talent was just his "icing," he was always quick to smile and share a kind word or a fun barb. I would like to extend my sympathy to his family and friends. Greg will be missed. ~ Mickie

Greg Pineda, dear friend, guitar player, lost his battle against cancer this morning around 6AM this morning. He went peacefully at home with his family.
We had a great final gig, Thanksgiving Eve. Greg was in good form, singin' and playin' with a big smile, which is the way he will be remembered.

I was just cruzing around on the internet and came across this and just wanted to say thank you for writing something nice about my father, so I take it that you know Tom "the fearless leader" of the mallow.

Know the 'Mallow~ I love them! They're a great bunch of guys with talent too. Greg was always very nice to me and I miss him. My Independence Day celebrations will never be the same without his vibrant voice and twanging guitar...
