Hathaway-Sycamores to raffle Smartcar

Purchase a $50 raffle ticket and you could win a 2009 SMARTCAR. Offered by Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services, in conjunction with their annual golf event the “Shot-at-a-Million Golf Classic,” the winning raffle ticket wins a MSRP $16,000 2009 sporty, well-equipped passion coupe SMARTCAR.

With an estimated 40 mpg, the SMARTCAR features intelligent safety engineering, ultra low emissions, and it outfitted with the comfort package (power steering, leather seats, heated seats, fog lamps).

The winner, who need not be present, will be announced at the “Shot-at-a-Million” Golf Classic on Thursday, June 4, at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena.

The raffle and golf event raise critical funds to provide services and compassionate care for the boys who live in full-time residential care at Hathaway-Sycamores. Ranging in age from 6 to 18, these youngsters have suffered abuse and neglect in the past, and now battle severe mental health and emotional disorders on a daily basis.

The event proceeds will help to brighten their lives by sending them to summer camp along with supporting various other educational and therapeutic programs designed to give them a chance at a better life.Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services, one of the largest, nonprofit, private children’s mental health and welfare agencies in Los Angeles County, provides a comprehensive continuum of services to over 9,000 children and families annually through a network of facilities stretching across the greater Los Angeles area including the San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, and the Antelope Valley.

Services include: a residential treatment center for youth ages 6 through 18; foster care and adoption services; a nonpublic school; school-based and outpatient mental health services; wraparound and in-home counseling services; a transitional living program for teens; a family resource center; and a grief and loss center for children. The agency is licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services, certified by the Department of Mental Health, and accredited through The Joint Commission.
