Towne Singers to perform Sunday

The Towne Singers, a prominent local community chorus, will be presenting "A Classy, Jazzy Christmas" at the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, on Sunday, December 6th at 4:30 p.m.

The program will include a mix of both traditional and contemporary Christmas works, plus a healthy dose of the mirth and merriment for which the Towne Singers’ concerts have come to be known. A certain bearded fat man in a red suit is also expected to make an appearance.

"This is our third concert at First United Methodist Church," said Ken Kimball, the Towne Singers’ president, "and it’s an ideal venue for our group. Wonderful acoustics, easy access, lots of comfortable seating, and ample parking in the area. Plus, there’s all those great Pasadena restaurants for post-concert dining."

Beth Richey, the conductor of the Towne Singers, is very excited about the program this year. "We’ve got a really nice blend of traditional carols, gospel tunes, and contemporary works, and even some swing tunes," she said. "The chorus continues to grow in size and in capabilities each year, and I really believe this year’s concert will be a wonderful holiday treat for everyone."

Tickets for "A Classy, Jazzy Christmas" are available from any Towne Singer, or by calling (818) 952-7402. Tickets are also available for sale at the Towne Singers’ website
(www.townesingers.com ), and will be available at the door the day of the performance.

First United Methodist Church is located at 500 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena (one block east of Los Robles Avenue). Ticket prices are $20 at the door or $15 in advance. Tickets for children under the age of 10 are $8, and $12.50 for groups of 15 or more.
