The Englsih Beat in Santa Monica Feb. 12 to benefit Love Hope Strength Foundation

Two-Tone ska legends THE ENGLISH BEAT are playing a benefit concert for the Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS) in Santa Monica on Saturday February 12th at Zanzibar. This event will raise funds to assist LHS with support & education for early cancer treatments and individual needs assistance. Dave Wakeling also played the LHS kick-off, which was also the first-ever concert atop of The Empire State Building in New York City.

Love Hope Strength Foundation was co-founded in 2007 by cancer survivors Mike Peters of the Welsh band The Alarm and veteran music industry executive James Chippendale. It's the world's largest music industry supported cancer awareness group. They've organized benefit concerts at some of the world's highest elevations including Machu Picchu, Mt. Everest, The Empire State Building, Mt. Fuji, and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Santa Monica is their first concert at sea level. To date, LHS has registered over 10k donors throughout the music festival circuit including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Bonnaroo which has resulted in 50 matches for leukemia patients.

This isn't just any ska band, English Beat is THE ska band! They're one of the earliest and most important ska revivalist groups.Their irresistible blend of ska, punk, and reggae has made them undeniable stars. A few of their chart-topping hits include: "Save It For Later", "Mirror in the Bathroom", "I Confess", and of course General Public's "Tenderness". In addition to their timeless classics, they'll also be playing some new songs off of their forthcoming album.
