ABOUT JAMESTOWN REVIVAL

Jamestown Revival is an idea formed by Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance. For lack of a better word, you could call it a duo, but the word duo just doesn't seem to truly capture the essence of their delivery. Being childhood friends, they created music together for the better part of their adolescent lives. Through college they continued to write together, and each branched out to pursue solo careers. Only recently have they officially joined heads to form a collective group.

Songs like "Gypsy Woman" (featured on this season of Sons Of Anarchy) and "Bring Your Love" (featured on this season of Private Practice) are good example's of co-writes they've composed on each others past solo albums. What I like about the new songs written specifically for Jamestown Revival is that they still retain the elements I enjoy with regards to their individual writing styles, but they also incorporate a quality that is unlike anything else I've heard. Immediately, you can hear the influence of a pop music upbringing, but it's infused with different elements of rock, bluegrass, country, soul, and blues. It's a "rootsy" sound, and it's refreshing.

Being a two man show, their live set is extremely harmony driven. Jonathan Clay's main instrument is the electric guitar, while Zach plays the keyboard. They may only have two instruments, but they don't limit themselves to only two sounds. A few songs in and you'll hear everything ranging from drawn-out atmospheric delays, to delta-esque slide guitar.

Having collectively sold more than 120,000 songs on iTunes alone, and received song placement on everything from MTV's "The Hills", "The Real World,” and "Newport Harbor,” to ABC's "Lincoln Heights,” the members of this group are no newcomers to the music industry. Jamestown Revival is brand new, and the underground buzz is coming out of the gate with momentum. These two will be interesting to watch as Jamestown Revival becomes a name we begin to hear more and more of.
