Daryl Hall and John Oates contest announced

For every Daryl Hall and John Oates fan who grew up lip-synching one of their hits in front of the mirror, this is the chance to make their "Dreams Come True" by expressing their "Method of Modern Love" to the band by submitting a homemade video to the "I Can Go For That" contest at www.hallandoates.com to earn a chance at a grand prize to see a headlining performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Sept. by the RIAA-certified best-selling pop duo of all time.
The winner, who will be judged on "creativity, originality and visual aesthetic" by Daryl, John and their management team, will receive airfare for two, three days and two nights hotel accommodations and two tickets to see the duo in concert at the world-famous Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, Sept.8.
The idea for the contest was hatched when a sexy video of a user named suicidegirl lip-synching and dancing to the hit "Maneater" appeared on YouTube, attracting more than 540k views to date and spurring renewed interest in Daryl Hall & John Oates videos on the popular site.
Videos must be of any song written by Hall & Oates through their 35+ year recording history, under 5 minutes in length, and cannot contain nudity, obscenity, racially offensive material or illegal activities, with entries limited to one per person. The contest runs through 11:59 p.m. (ET) on June 30. Video files must be 20MB or smaller and in either Quicktime (.mov), MPEG(.mpg), MPEG-4 (.mp4), Windows Media (.asf/.wmv) or AVI file format (.avi),with a recommended file resolution 320x240 pixels when rendering. Entrants must go to www.hallandoates.com , fill out the entry form, agree to all terms and conditions, and then will be guided to upload the video.
Judging will take place in three rounds, with the Top 25 videos chosen in the first round posted online on July 8, and open to voting through July 21. The three videos receiving the greatest number of votes will be announced on July 22 and move onto the third and final round, where visitors to the website will choose their favorite from July 22-30. The video receiving the greatest number of votes will be the grand-prize winner. The second-place finisher will get an MP3 player pre-loaded with Daryl Hall & John Oates songs and videos, while the third-place entrant gets a collection of Hall & Oates merchandise and swag.
