Good Charlotte to tour with Justin Timberlake

Coming off a highly successful world tour encompassing Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Japan, multi-platinum rockers GOOD CHARLOTTE have announced they’ll join headliner Justin Timberlake for an arena tour in the U.S. this summer beginning Monday, August 6 in Memphis, TN. The dates will include a two-night engagement at New York City’s Madison Square Garden (August 15 and 16) and culminate with two shows at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on September 16 and 17.
GOOD CHARLOTTE--JOEL MADDEN (vocals), BENJI MADDEN (guitars/vocals), BILLY MARTIN (guitars), PAUL THOMAS (bass) and DEAN BUTTERWORTH (drums)--released their fourth studio album GOOD MORNING REVIVAL (Epic/Daylight) in March and it debuted at #7 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. The new album serves up an innovative sound collage of rock, dance and pop, and is earning the band success and acclaim in the U.S. and all over the world. The video for the group’s forthcoming single “Dance Floor Anthem (I Don’t Wanna To Be In Love)” premiered on MTV’s TRL just last week and is already added into rotation at MTV Hits and on Fuse. “Dance Floor Anthem (I Don’t Wanna To Be In Love)”--which the Associated Press called “An instantly infectious toe-tapper…”--will officially impact radio on July 10 and follows the album’s first single, “The River.”

GOOD MORNING REVIVAL marks the follow-up to 2004’s platinum-selling Chronicles Of Life And Death, which is part of a body of work that has resulted in worldwide album sales reaching nearly 10 million copies. With GOOD MORNING REVIVAL, the band achieved Top 10 chart debuts in eleven countries including the U.S., marking their highest international chart positions ever. The rankings are: #1 in Japan, #2 in Canada and New Zealand, #4 in Hong Kong, #5 in Australia, #6 in Mexico, #7 in the U.S. and Switzerland, #8 in Thailand and #10 in Germany and Austria.
Here are some critical soundbites from GOOD MORNING REVIVAL reviews:

"...robust guitars, punchy choruses and fat hooks..."
--Edna Gundersen, USA TODAY, March 27, 2007

“Synthy treats like the literal ‘Dance Floor Anthem’ and ‘Something Else’ have gargantuan choruses and hooks to spare.”
--Andy Greenwald, BLENDER, April 2007

“Good Morning Revival is full of catchy pop-punk melodies that singer Joel Madden has always dispensed so effortlessly. Brother Benji and co-guitarist Billy Martin are as terse, crunchy, rhythmic and hooky as ever in their dual six-string assault, and bassist Paul Thomas ably holds down the low end. …The songs on Good Morning Revival are brimming with propulsive electro sequences, deep atmospheric synths and moody piano chords.”
--Alan Di Perna, GUITAR WORLD, May 2007

“They still have a knack for a mammoth chorus, so much so that they could release four of the first six tracks as singles, their melodies so immediate as to lodge firmly and irresistibly in your head. Love is a major theme–both winning it and losing it–and it’s woven throughout the album like an insistent string, the thread holding it all together.”
--Tim Bryant, KERRANG! (4 K’s) April 2007

“Good Morning Revival is more downbeat, lyrically introspective, and ultimately, more mature… Gone are the fluffy, youthful anthems; they’ve been replaced by more intricate, darker songs.”
--Amy Sciarretto, OUTBURN, March/May 2007

“Good Charlotte broke form the pop-punk mold on 2004’s eclectic The Chronicles of Life & Death, and they continue to dabble in new genres here. “
--Trevor Kelley, SPIN, March 2007

“Good Morning Revival tones down signature pop-punk banner and etches a more straight-ahead rock stencil, albeit with iron-clad melodies… The band gets down to business with ‘The River,’ a fist-pumping blood-letting anthem…”
--Christa Titus, BILLBOARD, March 24, 2007 (CD review)

“In Revival, the band returns to the youthful, melodic style that won them so many fans with their first two records, but tempers that happy mood with some of the leftover adolescent angst from the more melancholy Chronicles. ’The River’ is indicative of a renewed confidence the band has shown in its execution throughout the entire record… With this confidence comes a greater willingness to explore stylistically.”
--Frank Tuccillo, YRB, Spring 2007
