Les Claypool to perform in Hollywood on June 27

LES CLAYPOOL

Wednesday, June 27
@ Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood

Renowned bassist and legendary Primus front man LES CLAYPOOL returns to Los Angeles on his major market tour in support of FANCY.

Fancy—just released May 27 on Prawn Song--is his first solo live concert DVD from his 2006 summer tour with his latest group of accomplished players. With long time associates Skerik on sax and Mike Dillon on vibes, marimba and percussion (both of Garage a Trois and Critters' Buggin'), the band is rounded out by Cake drummer Paolo Baldi and multi-instrumentalist Gabby La La. The 2006 tour was in support of Claypool's then-current CD release Of Whales and Woe and thus material from this album is favored here. Other songs are drawn from 2002's Purple Onion and the 1996 Interscope release Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel: Highball With the Devil.

In other exciting news, National Lampoon has announced its first feature film acquisition, Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo, the directorial debut of Les Claypool. This comedy takes an endearing yet twisted look at the American cultural phenomenon known as the Jam Band scene. Claypool compares the film’s comedic style less to Spinal Tap and more to Ricky Gervais’s seminal BBC comedy “The Office.“
