The Blue Van readying third effort

Denmark's own The Blue Van are set to release their third album entitled Man Up on April 7th via iTunes. A physical release will follow soon after with an announcement to be made about their new label home.

The band will be playing the MUSEXPO ’09 in Los Angeles at The Whiskey (8901 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA) on April 27th at 10pm to showcase tracks from the record. Man Up has already received some high profile exposure in this weeks episode of VH1’s hilarious new show Free Radio and the April 14th episode of 90210 featuring the track "Silly Boy" (the show has had previously played the title track "Man Up" in the show).

Man Up is the follow up to 2006's Dear Independence which was received with rave reviews including being one of David 'Fricke's Picks' in Rolling Stone. Man Up is currently enjoying major success in the band's native country, most notably being nominated as Denmark's P3 'Breakthrough Artist of the Year' and 'Hit of the Year' as well as the first single "Silly Boy" being touted by Danish National Radio (DR-P3) as "The Week's Unavoidable" and presently sits in the Top Ten .

The new album is already making waves here in the states with the title track being heard in the before mentioned episode of 90210 and CSI NY, in addition to being used in Scrubs season premiere teaser campaign. The song will also be featured in an upcoming Playstation NBA video game. "Silly Boy," which is the first U.S. single is also featured prominently in the current Behold Samsung TV Ad running for their T-Mobile phone.

The Blue Van formed in the remote Danish town of Bronderslev where they met in kindergarten and started to play music together at the age of 12. They moved to Copenhagen six years ago, each at the age of 20, to further their career and have spent a lot of their time in the past few year in the U.S. recording and playing as many gigs as possible.

The band will be touring the US (dates to be announced) and doing festivals in Europe for the rest of the year including the P3 Awards Show in Denmark. On past tours, the band has shared the stage with the likes of Jet, Hot Hot Heat, Electric Six and The Pretenders as well as their own headlining tour.
