Flags to fly for Donate Life America

In response to a call to action by Donate Life America, hundreds of organizations will collectively fly Donate Life flags in honor of the thousands of donors and recipients whose lives have been affected by organ, eye and tissue donation. The Flags Across America initiative will take place during April 2009.

To date, more than 2,400 Donate Life flags have been newly purchased and thousands more are already in use. Flag orders were received from approximately 200 organizations in 39 states and Puerto Rico.

“We are pleased to join together with our partners at donor hospitals, transplant centers, donation organizations and in the community to spread the Donate Life message and honor organ and tissue donors and recipients. We hope this nationwide display of flags will make people stop, take notice and take action to register as a donor,” says Sara Pace Jones, Chairwoman, Donate Life America. “Taking action today could give someone a very precious gift -- Life.”

Donate Life flags will be flown by hundreds of organizations including hospitals, transplant centers, recovery agencies, and departments of motor vehicles throughout the nation.
