Volcano film coming to CalTech Pasadena

Earth: Power of the Planet—Volcano, a high-definition documentary, will be presented on Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium. James Maloney, co-director of the Caltech Classroom Connection, will introduce the program and guide the post-screening discussion.

Volcanoes are usually seen as destructive and frightening, but they are absolutely critical to making the Earth a home for life. Without them, Earth would have become a dead planet millions of years ago. A BBC/National Geographic Channel US/ZDF co-production.

This event is made possible through Caltech’s participation in the CineMuse Network.

Tickets to this performance are priced at $5.00. Tickets can be purchased at the Caltech Ticket Office, 332 South Michigan Avenue, Pasadena.
Beckman Auditorium is located on Michigan Avenue, south of Del Mar Boulevard, in Pasadena. For information, call (626) 395-4652 or, outside the Pasadena area, 1 (888) 222-5832. Individuals with a disability should call (626) 395-4688 (voice) or (626) 395-3700 (TDD) for information and assistance.
