Bodybuilding.com LA Fitness Expo Jan. 29 & 30

Over 20,000 attendees will start the New Year right when The Bodybuilding.com Los Angeles Fitness Expo, presented by Subway Restaurants, returns Saturday and Sunday, January 29 and 30 to the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 South Figueroa Street, West Halls A & B.
Californias largest fitness weekend allows attendees to come face-to- face with top-tier fitness celebrities, executives and fitness industry veterans on a dynamic, fast-paced exhibition floor. Over 300 cutting edge fitness companies will be on hand to display, offer show discounts and give away complimentary samples.

Erin Ferries, Executive Director of The Expo stated, Last year we were blown away by the 34% growth in attendance. In 2011, we are looking forward to more great celebrity guests, exhibitors and seminars, and of course, our four new competitions. We remain committed to providing all 15 of our contests for free to all of our attendees as we continue to be the best entertainment bargain around.

New contests this year taking place on the exhibit floor stages, will include:

Iron Man Magazine Naturally Bodybuilding, Bikini & Figure Contest will demonstrate impressive physiques developed without the use of performance enhancing drugs. (Saturday)

UAL Armwrestling, the UAL Qualifier II, will match the best professional and amateur arm wrestlers against one another in this exciting double-elimination tournament. (Saturday)

Vise Grip Viking Challenge Grip Masters will face off, lifting and loading objects onto a platform with no aids other than chalk! (Saturday & Sunday)

LA Champions Martial Arts Competition Compete Championships brings the best in youth and adult Sport Karate in this action packed tournament. (Saturday)

Along with these new events, several fan-favorites are set to return including The Gracie US Nationals & Kids World Championships, The All-American Strongman Challenge, The Scot Mendelson Bench Pro Classic, The Warriors Wrestling Competition, The USPA American Cup Powerlifting Championships, and The LA Fitness Expo Benchpress and Deadlift Championship.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to compete in the MAX REPS 4 CASH Competition and Bodybuilding.com's BodySpace Spokesmodel Search. One lucky man and woman winner will grace the cover of Iron Man Magazine and represent Bodybuilding.com and the BodySpace community.

A heavy Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) presence will certainly be felt with Sherdog and MMA Worldwide hosting several top athletes, pro-training sessions, ring girl contests, live remotes as well as many vendors with the latest gear. Attendees can meet Chuck The Iceman Liddell on Saturday at 2:00 PM, courtesy of the Ultimate Iceman Supplements.

Fitness greats slated to appear include Jay Cutler (Mr. Olympia 2010 courtesy of Jason Ellis Photography), Phil Collen (Def Lepard Lead Guitarist/Muay Thai Kickboxer), Jean Carrillo (World Champion Muay Thai Trainer), Carmen Electra (courtesy of HCG Platinum), Lou Ferrigno (American bodybuilding icon) and many more.

Something for every age will be offered this year as several kids events are offered. Kevin Sorbo (courtesy of Yoli, Actor/Spokesman, Saturday) will be appearing for A World Fit For Kids, an organization that provides afterschool programs with physical activity and action-learning. The Sins XMA Performance Team will entertain the crowd with an array of high-flying tumbling, martial arts and weapon skills. CrossFit Kids, principal strength and conditioning program for young athletes and the primary P.E. program for home school and charter schools, will offer an obstacle course, interactive games and demonstrations and age-appropriate fitness challenges that are fun and engaging.

Adult admission tickets are $20 per day or $30 for the full weekend, children 12 years and under are $10 per day and children under 6 are free. Show hours are Saturday, 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM and Sunday, 10:00 AM 5:00 PM. Plenty of parking is available.
