Country music superstar Alan Jackson’s hit song “Good Time” is currently featured in an upbeat television commercial for GE’s ecomagination technology initiative, created by BBDO NY, showing line-dancers from all walks of life spreading around the world. GE is now launching an online video contest in conjunction with the same concept.
Beginning today, February 16, fans can go to GE’s www.youtube.com/ecomagination and a video message from Jackson will invite them to submit their own home videos of the line dance moves as seen in the ecomagination TV commercial. GE wants fans to get in step with ecomagination and join the line dance with a goal of making history with the world’s longest line dance online. All videos submitted will help GE donate 20 years of clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations through its affiliation with “Charity: Water,” www.charitywater.com, a non-profit organization.
For the next two months, fans can also vote for their favorite video and the final top 12 videos are chosen by their votes. The best line dance video, selected by GE, will win a GE ecomagination Home Appliance Makeover with up to $10,000 of eco-friendly GE appliances.
“Good Time” was originally written and recorded by Jackson for his platinum-selling album of the same name. It can be found on his latest release, the two-disc set 34 Number Ones. The album showcases every chart-topping hit from Alan's career, including the Grammy Award winning “As She’s Walking Away,” which teams him with the Zac Brown Band.
