'Shades of Christmas' album released

The Gold Label, founded by music legend Pat Boone, captures the holiday spirit through the Jazz release of Shades of Christmas. This innovative collection of Christmas classics releases today.

Billboard charting Jazz artist, David Diggs, spearheaded the project by gathering music’s finest Jazz musicians. Together they composed an inventive yet classic record that can be enjoyed by all.

Produced by Diggs and recorded in the heart of Hollywood, Shades of Christmas features 13 new arrangements showcasing the diverse talents of Russell Ferrante and Bob Mintzer of Yellowjackets, Kait Dunton, Eric Brenton, Bobby Rodriguez, Matt Harris, Bob McChesney, David Siebels, Domenic Genova, and Stewart W. Foster, as well as Diggs, who contributed a new Jazz rendition of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” for seven trombones.  Each of these talented artists have performed with musical icons including Tony Bennett, Joni Mitchell, Ray Charles, BB King, Rick Springfield, and played in landmark venues around the world.  Their unique talents are demonstrated through the use of a variety of instruments such as the Hammond B3 Organ, classical guitar, violin, mandolin, pipe organ and strings.

Additionally, the vocal stylings of Rachel Diggs, known for her ABC-TV Pretty Little Liars hit “Hands of Time,” are also featured on the record with her captivating debut single “O Come O Come Emmanuel.” Other favorites on the new release include “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Christmas Wish” and many more.

“With the advances in music technology, we were able to realize our dream of gathering the cream of the crop - both established artists as well as young future Jazz stars, to create this varied new Christmas collection, which is sure to enhance anyone’s holiday season,” exclaims Diggs.
