Brett Dennen on tour

Both Brett Dennen’s album, Hope For the Hopeless, and the grassroots growth of his vibe-happy fanbase prompted Rolling Stone to warn “he may soon give Dave Matthews a run for his tour grosses.” Brett’s upcoming Spring/Summer national television and touring season (dates below) now looks ready to prove the rock journal right.

A television blitz begins this week as Brett departs for UK and European tour dates. He’ll perform his hit single, “Make You Crazy” on The Late Late Show w/Craig Ferguson (4/14) and The Ellen DeGeneres Show (4/21). On April 23rd, Last Call with Carson Daly will air Brett’s performance that was shot during his two sold-out nights at the Los Angeles House of Blues. As part of Carson Daly’s innovative new “venue visit” features, viewers will see Brett perform on his own stage with all the magic that makes Dennen one of the most exciting new touring artists on the road today.

Grey’s Anatomy on April 30th will feature “So Far From Me,” a song from Hope For The Hopeless. It will be the third time one of Brett’s songs has been chosen to encapsulate the poignancy of the primetime favorite.

Through April and May, Dennen will tour the UK with The Fray and headlining dates, returning to the U.S. for dates with O.A.R. at venues such as Red Rocks and Madison Square Garden. He’ll also appear at major summer music festivals around the country, including Bonnaroo, Rothbury, Mountain Jam and Bumbershoot with another major festival announcement to be made soon.
A touring powerhouse, Dennen just wrapped his 54-city Hope For The Hopeless Tour last week. The cross-country jaunt kicked off last January with a Tonight Show performance and went on to sell out venue after venue, but Brett will only get a short break before heading to the UK to join The Fray.

ABOUT BRETT DENNEN: Brett Dennen’s Hope For The Hopeless (Dualtone/Downtown Records) debuted in October 2008 as the #4 Independent Album, the #6 Digital Album and at #41 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. The first single, “Make You Crazy” became a Top Five hit at AAA Radio and was accompanied by a tongue-in-cheek music video featuring Mandy Moore in an ironic take on “trends” as seen on VH1.

Rolling Stone named Dennen an "Artist to Watch in 2008," and John Mayer, Michael Franti and Jason Mraz are outspoken advocates. Brett’s narrative-rich lyrics and distinctive voice have been spotlighted by NPR, USA Today Entertainment Weekly, the Washington Post and featured on Grey’s Anatomy, Scrubs and House, among others.

The 6’4” former camp counselor from Northern California seems an unlikely front man, with long red hair, trademark headband and guitar held high, he nonetheless radiates confidence and ease in his own skin. His smooth sound is in stark contrast to his persona and the combination of wit and sentiment amount to a captivating performance. As the audience grows, Brett remains the folky, soulful, witty and insightful artist that first captured hearts in California coffee houses five years ago.
