Pasadena Playhouse to offer benefit performance

The Friends of Pasadena Playhouse presents HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, a benefit performance for Pasadena Playhouse, starring Dale Kristien (Christine in The Phantom of the Opera) and Bill Hutton (originated the role of Joseph in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat). The production will play for one night only on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue) with preshow holiday festivities in The Engemann Family Courtyard. David Galligan directs with musical direction by Mary Ekler.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, is a Christmas concert that was conceived by Kristien and Hutton in 1995, alongside with director David Galligan. The concert highlights favorite songs of the season with a little bit of spice and everything that’s “naughty or nice.” HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS has become a seasonal tradition in the Los Angeles area.

Preshow Holiday Activities in The Engemann Family Courtyard include:¨ Silent Auction Items – Michael Jackson memorabilia, Steve Martin memorabilia, autographed theatre memorabilia, designer jewelry, and more.¨ Holiday Bazaar – Wonderful holiday gifts including jewelry, quilts and more.¨ Live Carolers¨ Photos with Santa¨ Delicious Holiday Treats & Beverages

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS marks the first fundraising event produced by The Friends of Pasadena Playhouse. Proceeds from the performance and the preshow festivities will benefit Pasadena Playhouse.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS plays at Pasadena Playhouse, 39 South El Molino Avenue in Pasadena on Monday, December 14 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets range from $25.00 - $75.00 and are available by calling the Pasadena Playhouse Box Office at 626-356-7529, visiting the Box Office, open from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily excluding holidays, and online at www.Pasadenaplayhouse.org. Preshow festivities are open to the public.

ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF PASADENA PLAYHOUSE:
The Friends of Pasadena Playhouse is comprised of over 300 members and is a support group for the Pasadena Playhouse. They are extremely active in the day-to-day operations of the Theatre. Among the many services they provide are ushering, feeding the cast between shows on Saturdays and from time-to-time at other events, lending a hand in sending out special mailings, performing simple maintenance and repairs around the Playhouse, assisting with any special events at the Playhouse, and helping keep the information for the Playhouse Archives current. The Friends of Pasadena Playhouse is headed by Bridget Furiga (President), Lenore Bond Almanzar (Vice President), Nola Widin (Treasurer), Sharon Zaslaw (Recording Secretary) and Jayne Thomas (Corresponding Secretary).
