With over 17 million albums sold in the US alone, renowned singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will make his way to the Terrace Theater/Long Beach Performing Arts Center to perform a solo acoustic show on Tuesday, March 8th, at 7:30PM. The show is a presentation of AEG Live.
Browne is an American rock singer-songwriter who came to prominence in the 1970s. His political interests and personal angst have been central to his career, resulting in popular songs such as "Somebody's Baby," "These Days," "The Pretender," "Lawyers in Love," and "Running On Empty". In 2004, Browne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by his friend Bruce Springsteen. That same year, he received an honorary Doctorate of Music from Los Angeles' Occidental College.
His 2010 album, Love Is Strange, is produced by himself and Paul Dieter, and also features longtime friend and musical co-conspirator, David Lindley. The two-disk live album presents highlights from a tour of Spain that he and Lindley played in 2006.
“We are thrilled to welcome this celebrated artist to the Long Beach Performing Arts Center,” said Dan Spellens, Director of Theaters & Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. “Browne’s music is enthralling and his acoustic set will not disappoint,” he concluded.
