Newport Beach is once again "front and center" of Orange County's culinary scene as it prepares to welcome the return of the much-anticipated Newport Beach Restaurant Week from Friday, January 21st - Thursday, January 27th, 2011. Produced by the Newport Beach Restaurant Association, a part of 'California Restaurant Month,' as designated by the California Travel & Tourism Commission for January 2011, a diverse selection of restaurants will offer diners the opportunity to savor lunch and dinner menu at prix fixe pricing. Just in time for this foodie-centric event, iconic Newport Beach eateries and culinary purveyors are revealed in a new video titled "The Foodie," now available at www.visitnewportbeach.com/foodie.
Launched in 2007, Newport Beach Restaurant Week is among the most-revered in the region, given Newport's status as a vibrant, centrally located dining destination in Orange County. Dozens of eateries from casual to fine dining outposts participate, offering prix-fixe lunch menus for $15 or $20 per person, and prix-fixe dinner menus for $25, $35 or $45 per person. A list of participating restaurants can be found here. Newport's vibrant culinary industry is highlighted by its participation in the larger 'California Restaurant Month,' also in January. No doubt Newport contributes to the over $20 billion spent by visitors in the state, making California the top foodie destination in the U.S.
