Indaba Music launches Jason Derulo remix contest

Artists in the Indaba Music community are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to remix multi-platinum singer and songwriter Jason Derulo's Don't Wanna Go Home, the first single of his upcoming release Future History, in collaboration with the leading social crowdsourcing platform Talenthouse. The best remixer will be chosen by Derulo to fly to Los Angeles and collaborate with him in the studio.

For this opportunity, Indaba has also teamed up with leading crowdsourcing platform Talenthouse to determine the 10 Honorable Mentions, who will all be invited to a group videochat with Jason, and receive an autographed copy of Future History. Submissions are due September 7, 2011, and 50 remixes - 25 picked by Indaba's team, and 25 by popular vote on IndabaMusic.com - will then go to the Talenthouse round on Derulo's Facebook page. Derulo's final pick will be announced on October 12. For more information, go to http://www.indabamusic.com/opportunities/jason-derulo-remix-contest

Derulo's career has been exploding this year, with three songs in the Top 10 from his self-titled Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. debut. Derulo's Future History is poised for release on September 27, 2011, on the heels of his 2010 self-titled album which sold more than 13 million singles and 850,000 albums worldwide. Derulo is the first male solo artist to score consecutive No. 1s on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart in the chart's 17-year-history with his first two entries, "Whatcha Say" and "In My Head". Derulo won five awards at the 2011 BMI Pop Awards including Songwriter of the Year, which he shared with Lady Gaga and his debut album's producer JR Rotem. He has won a Teen Choice Award (for "Choice Music: Album, R&B"), nominated twice in 2011, and has been nominated for a 2011 NAACP Image Award, an American Music Award, an ARIA and MOBO Award, two 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, and a Much Music Award. Derulo has streamed nearly 390 million views of his YouTube Channel, putting him in the Top 100 All-Time Most Viewed channels and the Top 40 of all Musicians on YouTube.
