LAUNCH, new L.A. arts organization, to hold gala Aug. 5

LAUNCH, the new non-profit arts organization located in the Historic Miracle Mile District, will celebrate its first fundraising event with LAUNCH Lounge, Thursday, August 5 from 6-10PM, at 5900 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

Designed to evoke a cool, hip and sophisticated club/lounge vibe, LAUNCH Lounge will feature a hosted wine bar, desserts, musical guests, and hand-made appetizers and signature Launch Lounge cocktail by renowned chef Fred Eric.

Non-alcoholic beverages sponsored by Honest Tea and Icelandic Glacial Water. Media Sponsor is Monster Children Magazine.

In addition, LAUNCH Lounge will present a special group art exhibit featuring original works by Mark Acetelli, Elow, Fumiko Amano, Carla Azar, Philippa Blair, Todd Carpenter, Victor Castillo, Lola DelFresno, Dalek, Laurent Dareau, Michael Dotson, Gregory Euclide, Shane Guffogg, Christopher Martin Hoff, Ivo, Mel Kadel, Dean Karr, Rebecca Lowry, Siuan McGahan, Miguel Osuna, Kill Pixie (Mark Whalen), Travis Lampe, Jason Macaya, Christopher Mercier, Travis Millard, Jessica O’Dowd, Bryan Ricci, Michael Rosenfeld, Christina Schurtz, Jennifer Beedon Snow, Gretl Stevens, Jon Tarry, Miss Van, Melora Walters, and Edward Walton Wilcox.

Guests will also have an opportunity to bid on specialty items in the Silent Auction, including limited-edition prints – some with starting bids as low as $100.00 – by artists such as Dee Dee Cheriel, Shepard Fairey, Friends With You, Camille Rose Garcia, Steven Gilmore, Curtis Kulig, Samuel Lowder (FrePres), Claw Money, Mark Mothersbaugh, Mark Ryden, Todd Schorr, Kathy Staico Schorr, Kent Williams, and others.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the exhibiting artists, LAUNCH’s artistic, educational and outreach programming.

The event will be held at LAUNCH-LA, 5900 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036 (in the Variety Building across from LACMA).
