Family Nature Hike
The Recreation and Community Services Department is taking a hike to Eaton Canyon on Saturday, August 14th. We will meet at 8am SHARP at the Community Center, board a bus to the trailhead in Sierra Madre and enjoy a relatively easy hike that totals four miles round trip.
Join us as we hike up to a canyon in the lower San Gabriel Mountains to a 40-foot waterfall. The lower stretches of this trail are pretty level, and wind through some brush and chaparral on the way to Eaton Canyon Creek. After that, it’s easy fire road hiking as the route follows just above the banks of the wide, rocky wash of the actual creek. This is where the trail gets a big more verdant, and you may be able to spot a few more wildflower blooms along the way.
The trail is single-track, rocky, and prone to crossing the creek…a LOT. So get your balance ready, or make sure that extra pair of socks is secure in your pack, then continue on. Be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat. The $15 fee includes transportation and lunch. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Since it’s inception over two decades ago, Cold Duck’s philosophy has been directly responsible for their continued success: “Give the people what they want to hear and have a good time delivering it!” With this solid experienced musicianship, it should come as no surprise that Cold Duck is renowned for being one of the most versatile bands in existence. Cold Duck continues its tradition of excellent musicianship and groovin' rhythms. So let’s have a good time dancing the night away!
