Musicians! Joe DeLavo of Ontario Music needs your support

Nope, this is not a commercial or plea for moola, so please read on.

Some of you may know that Ontario Music has gone out of business and just closed their doors last week. A gentleman by the name of Joe DeLavo has worked there for 23 years & he is one of the best musical instrument repair guys I've known. He has repaired stuff for many (MANY) folks in this area when they were in marching bands and now for some of their kids that are in marching band. Joe is 74 years old and was let go from Ontario Music about a two weeks ago. He has already faced some jerks at a local Home Depot that pretty much told him he is too old to work there. You can imagine the tough task he has ahead of him to find a job in this economy.

Joe is gonna keep repairng instruments on the side and is doing it out of his home. His Unemployment checks can only last so long and this is the reason for this e-mail. Joe just repaired my sax this past week and I know he saved me TONS of money by not charging me what a music store would charge. He does EXCELLENT work and I highly recommend him. If he doesn't have the equipment to fix an instrument he has many contacts he can refer you to.

Joe's phone number is 909.982.6421 and if you do go to him for instrument repairs, please let him know you got his number from T-Bone. He is in Upland (roughly 8th St & Euclid) and has just cleaned out his garage to start doing work from home. Please pass his number on to your band mates, Joe is one of the good guys ...

T-Bone
