August 1 – Coordinator Abraiha welcomes guest dancers Tahma , Ana, and Veronique to I-Candy’s magic carpet on this first Sunday in August. We hope you can come down to I-Candy to see these exquisite dancers enthrall you with their gorgeous interpretations of middle eastern dance!

Everyone is invited to this cozy haven for a relaxing evening among friends. Select your favorite beverage, hot or cold, from an assortment of coffees, teas, smoothies or juice; add to that a tasty sandwich or pastry; and then seat yourself alongside our magic carpet to enjoy some really great dancing at NO cover charge! If that isn’t incentive enough, there is even a 20% off coupon below good on any I-Candy food or beverage on Shimmyshowcase nights!
The SHIMMY SHOWCASE begins at 7 p.m. at I-CANDY COFFEE in Long Beach (1708 E. Broadway -- 562-437-3785).
Please allow time for parking to avoid missing any of the fun. Since street parking around I-Candy Coffee is scarce, we recommend you try the perimeter of Bixby park located two blocks east of I-Candy Coffee at Broadway and Cherry. Please try to arrive before 7:00 PM (earlier if you’re a performer!) as we try not to start the show until everyone has settled with a tasty beverage.

August 8 – Saviya will be coordinating this evening’s Shimmyshowcase, and she has guest dancers Nova Kachina, Reba, Zia, Bhalanca, Parveh, and Lesley lined up to shimmy for you!
August 15 - Ilana from the Om Sisters presents “Rock a Belly!” In case it isn’t clear, this is Rock ‘n Roll--belly dance style! We have Haven Bellydance troupe, Draca, and Delilah signed on as guest rockers/dancers to entertain the folks at I-Candy coffee with great dancing set to great music. So come on down, grab a cup of coffee and a slice of cheesecake or sandwich and settle in for a rollicking good time.
August 22 - Spectacular Special Shimmyshowcase event on this evening as Sarah al Nour & Alec Marken present Bands & Bellies 5! Please join us at I-Candy at 7 pm for an extraordinary program of live music by Deep Stirrings for the first half, followed by some fabulous dancing by Katerina, the Om Sisters, Veronika, IrinaXara, Perizad, Onyx, and BonBon plus Global Groove for the finale. These accomplished dancers perform to a range of styles from fusion to Middle Eastern—something for everyone’s taste! You don’t want to miss this fabulous event!

September 12 –A special welcome back after the Labor Day Holiday, Xandra is thrilled to have Marguerite and Rico bringing you Live Music as Elan. She’s also happy that Saphira, Kalila, and Gaea, will be returning to dance at this Shimmyshowcase.
