HEARDfest in Highland Park Aug. 14

HEARD of Elephants (b. 2008) is a Highland Park, Los Angeles based art/music collective drawn together around the urge to create an open environment for the creation and consumption of free thinking art and the desire to have some laughs in the process. We thought about going on for paragraphs and using a bunch of intellectual sounding phrases to explain that but then decided against it.

HEARDfest is the first multimedia festival curated by Heard of Elephants. The event, put on in conjunction with REMAP, will take place at the intersection of Junction Block and the Los Angeles Historic State Park downtown on August 14th, 2010. Two stages, 20+ bands, scores of DJ’s, video showings, installations, food, guerrilla comedy and generally enough bells and whistles to drown out a stadium full of vuvuzelas.

The line up this year includes:
Alpine Decline // Big Whup // Bizzart // Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra // Cue the Moon // French Ship // Friends of the Family // Holloys // Jeans Wilder // Pope Anything // Random Patterns // Social Studies // Stone Darling // Supermanoids // Woah Hunx // Woolen // Bobb Burno+ DJ sets from WXLU and Heard, as well as installations and environmental art to be announced.

Proceeds benefit the Remapping LA project.
