Miniature Tigers on tour in support of new album

Miniature Tigers are a busy bunch. Their sophomore album, FORTRESS, which Entertainment Weekly calls "all around enjoyable," came out this week and has a prominently placed brick in the iTunes Indie Spotlight section. The band played a sold out release show in their former hometown of Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday night and are currently out on a headlining run across the US with support from The Spinto Band. Autumn brings dates with their pals in Neon Indian (who’s lead man Alan Palomo produced the highly-regarded ‘Gold Skull’ on FORTRESS) and Prefuse 73.

On August 27th, they’ll participate in the Artists For Action/VivaArizona.org Voter Registration and Immigration Reform Rally. This hot-button issue has divided the State and Miniature Tigers, along with Calexico, Sergio Mendoza Y La Orkesta, Sand Rubies, Salvador Duran, Kinch and more, will take to the stage for this free concert to encourage the people of Phoenix to further educate themselves on the immigration and human rights issues facing Arizona today.

Their first single, 'Bullfighter Jacket’, is getting a lot of love right. NPR picked the tune for their Song Of The Day and glows that it "quickly identifies itself as the band's best work yet, with tight chord progressions and glimmers of yet more growth potential." Stereogum recently featured the song as well. Watch an exclusive, rooftop acoustic performance of the tune at Blender.com. Want to dance? Head over to RCRD LBL to hear, and download, the Aislyn (Passion Pit's Ian Hultquist and Sofia Degli Alessandri) remix.
