Free Jazz Summer Concert Series in Pasadena starts Sunday

The Pasadena Playhouse District Association sizzles this summer with its Seventh Annual Free Jazz Summer Concert Series. The concert series takes place every Sunday evening, July 11 through August 29, 2010 from 5 pm until 7 pm at the Vroman's outdoor courtyard, 695 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. The Seventh Annual Jazz Summer Series is free and open to the public.

The series kicks-off on Saturday, July 11th with the Elliot Caine Quintet. Latin-Jazz meets hard BOP, catchy originals and Blue Note classics from this Lee Morgan inspired trumpeter. Caine has received accolades in the Los Angeles Times, Pasadena Weekly, and L.A. Jazz Scene among other publications.

The eight week series features an eclectic roster of up-and-coming and notable jazz performers such as the Jacques Lesure Group, the Javier Vergara Jazz, Faro, and Latin Jazz Syndicate among other groups. From blues to Latin and smooth jazz, the free summer jazz concert series has something for all jazz lovers. The full concert schedule listed below.

In its seventh year the summer jazz concert series has provided the community with all-star jazz entertainment at no cost.
