In case you didn't already know, Pasadena's DOO DAH PARADE is NOT happening this month and will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2008. Some people are confused by this and some are downright upset! Hey - nobody ever said it was an annual event; it's the Occasional Doo Dah Parade, and some years it has even taken place twice. The Light Bringer folks, who put on the parade, have a few surprises up their sleeves - this being one of them. So there! Get over it already! And to get you in the Doo Dah mood, the QUEEN TRYOUTS AND PRE-DOO DAH PARTY is happening this Sun. 11/18 at the American Legion in Pasadena. See the listing below for complete details.
This provides the perfect opportunity to include a photo of my sister Ellen and I, who were reigning Doo Dah Queens in 1993. We were invited back to be judges for the queen competition in 2005, pictured here.
