Bands, solo artists, filmmakers, dancers, comedians and poets who’ve resolved to kick their careers into overdrive in the new year have a prime opportunity awaiting them at FameCast (www.FameCast.com), the world’s leading online talent competition and entertainment community.
FameCast today announced the opening of its Season 4 submission period, offering artists a chance to compete for international exposure; a piece of a $120,000 cash prize pool; forums for receiving feedback from and networking with A-list entertainment journalists, producers and songwriters; and major industry opportunities.
To enter, artists need only to put down the eggnog, upload a performance video (featuring original material; no cover songs allowed) to www.FameCast.com, and select one of 12 categories of competition. Categories are Rock, Pop, R&B/Hip-Hop, Singer/Songwriter, Country, Christian/Gospel, Latin, Electronic, Film & Animation, Dance, Comedy and Spoken Word. Entry is completely free, and those who submit their performance videos between Dec. 24 and Jan. 1 will be eligible for a random lottery drawing to win a bonus $500.
Standard Season 4 submissions are accepted through Jan. 21 - Feb. 2, depending on chosen category. From now until April 26, visitors to FameCast.com will vote for their favorite artists in each category through various rounds of competition. Those who make the Top 5 will be flown to Austin, Texas, to perform live at a showcase-style event in front of industry panelists. The winner of the popular vote wins $10,000 and the title of FameCast Fēnom. “Critics’ Pick” winners earn incredible industry opportunities throughout competition, such as exclusive mentor sessions with A-list managers and industry tastemakers, critiques from A&R personnel and high-end equipment.
FameCast’s live Season 3 Finals just wrapped up and the shows are now being webcast on www.famecast.com along with reality show-style specials with behind-the-scenes featurettes. The announcement of the winners is occurring nightly at 9 p.m. EST through December 22.
Past FameCast Fēnoms are already on the move in the entertainment industry. Season Two Rock Fēnoms Tripdavon recently had a song featured on HBO’s Entourage, while Season Two’s Short Film Fēnoms were featured at the L.A. International Shorts Festival. Season One R&B Fēnom Melissa Suzanne’s was featured on a Sony compilation disc. Season One Country Fēnom Eric Michael Hopper rocketed to #1 on Clear Channel Radio’s New Music Country Chart, and also found success with FameCast’s Big State Big Star contest, through which he earned a spot on the lineup of the inaugural Big State Festival where he joined Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson and 50 other acts to entertain more than 50,000 fans.
