Ludo touring in support of upcoming release

Vigilante bushwhackers with a heart of gold, who are out to bang your psyche and love you dead – the five-man conspiracy known as Ludo bring four years of insane hard work, coast-to-coast survival touring, and endless trips back home to St. Louis with YOU’RE AWFUL, I LOVE YOU, their major label album debut on Island Records, due to arrive in stores February 2008 with lead single “Love Me Dead”. Meanwhile, Ludo’s never-ending tour schedule rolls on through the end of December. (Please see tour dates below.)

YOU’RE AWFUL, I LOVE YOU was recorded in Los Angeles over the course of eight weeks with producer Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Train, Faith No More). Described by band’s Andrew Volpe as “their healthiest, most-ten-toed musicbaby yet,” the new album follows up its two indie predecessors – Ludo’s self-titled debut album of 2003 (recorded in St. Louis, “in roughly 14 days”), and 2005’s mini-album EP Broken Bride (on Redbird Records).

Ludo’s slavishly devoted legions of fans are logging on to the Ludo video thing channel, www.youtube.com/theludovideothing, checking out their latest episode 13 which includes new track “Love Me Dead” Toothbrush video. In addition to tracks from their first two albums – “Hum Along” from Ludo; and “Pt. I: Broken Bride” and the monumental “Save Our City” from Broken Bride – the site also previews two tracks from YOU’RE AWFUL, I LOVE YOU, “Drunken Lament” and “Love Me Dead.”

Beware of pterodactyls swarming on Ludo’s website, which faithfully chronicles “The Ludo Video Thing,” an organically expanding journey into the making of their new album on Island Records. Currently up to its thirteenth episode, the “Thing” also incorporates “A Very Ludo Christmas,” their first yuletide track and cornerstone of their special Christmas show.

Ludo – Andrew Volpe (vocals, guitar), Tim Ferrell (guitar, vocals), Tim Convy (Moog synthesizer, keyboards, vocals), Marshall Fanciullo (bass), and Matt Palermo (drums, vocals) – came together in bits and pieces, settling into their lineup back in 2003, when they inhabited a 900 sq. ft. smarmy abode in Tulsa and started playing out. Four years, two records, and “a few hundred shows” later, they were named one of the “Bands To Watch In 2007” by Alternative Press. With the arrival of YOU’RE AWFUL, I LOVE YOU, Ludo has rededicated themselves to their motto, vowing to “entertain people without making them dumber.”
