Busdriver announces tour

Busdriver – L.A.’s preeminent groundbreaking M.C. – has announced an extensive U.S. headlining tour in continued support of his acclaimed 2007 Epitaph debut Roadkillovercoat. Launching October 26th in Salt Lake City, the five week cross country trek wraps in San Diego on December 1st.

“After years of reppin’ L.A. indie-rap, Bus (Regan Farquhar) takes a step toward the masses on his new LP,” Rolling Stone wrote. “‘My other records were clusterfucks of random brain farts,” Busdriver told RS. “Now there’s a psychedelic pop thing that’s more palatable.”

Going well beyond the traditional boundaries of hip/hop, the 28-year old style-master and chop-maestro has pulled rave reviews since the January release of Roadkillovercoat. Calling it “ridiculous, articulate, erudite and blistering,” Filter named the disc “his most palatable work.”

Meanwhile, Scratch insisted Busdriver is “a proud new-era MC… he’s got plenty of skill and charisma.” And The Los Angeles Times added, “Simultaneously a spectacle of calisthenics and a lesson in lyrics, Busdriver’s voice pitters and patters with the fury of a concert flutist over complicated and often jarring production.”
2007 has been Busdriver’s strongest year yet. In addition to participating in a genre-breaking tour of North America with indie rockers Deerhoof and topping CMJ’s hip/hop survey, BD’s explosive performance at Coachella’s Valley Music & Arts Festival was considered one of the highlights of that infamous three-day festival.
