Song critique workshop

LOS ANGELES SONG CRITIQUE WORKSHOP with GUEST SPEAKER: Sun Feb 3, 2008
With Song critique session first half, followed by Guest Speaker, Moses Avalon.
Topic: The Secrets of Digital Distribution
Songsalive! holds workshops where songwriters gather to share their songs, gain feedback and develop relationships within the songwriting communities we have created around the world. The first half is solely dedicated to an in-the-round workshop where writers present one song each - either on tape, CD or live - followed by a guest speaker/industry discussion in the second half and plenty of time to talk and network. Moderated by Paul Lawrence Moyer.

SECOND HALF GUEST SPEAKER: MOSES AVALON
Mr. Avalon began his career as a New York record producer and recording engineer. His combined work with Grammy® award-winning recording artists has earned him RIAA Platinum record awards as well as other awards. Today he is an artist’s rights activist and the author of a top selling music industry reference, Million Dollar Mistakes and also Confessions Of A Record Producer which is required reading in the music business curriculum of over 40 schools, including UCLA, Loyola Law School, Fullsail and NYU. Mr. Avalon is a court-recognized music business expert in New York, California and Florida
in their campaign to help legitimize areas of the music business. His awardwinning website which discusses controversial issues in the music business and his advocacy efforts can be visited at www.MosesAvalon.com. His syndicated newsletter, MOSES SUPPOSES, which features informed editorials on the inner workings of the music business, reaches over 13,000 subscribers each month.
TOPIC: The Secrets of Digital DistributionMoses Avalon will discuss and reveal the secrets of Digital Distribution, what DRM is and why it's important for any songwriter to understand the issues. Also how to avoid getting ripped off by correctly interpreting the contracts of several leading Digital Distributors.
