Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp changes lives

For the last 10 years, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy camp has been creating life changing experiences for everyone from CEOs, CFOs, lawyers and doctors to school teachers, nurses, waiters, salesmen and students; and it is continuing to do so with its 10th Anniversary celebration blowout. Following a very successful star-filled weekend in Las Vegas in November, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp is proud to announce that the anniversary celebration will continue in Hollywood, CA on President’s Day Weekend, February 15-18, 2008 with a new group of rock superstars.

The Hollywood leg of Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp will feature special guests Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, Cliff Williams of AC/DC and Micky Dolenz of The Monkees. Additional guests and counselors include Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Bruce Kulick (KISS), Elliot Easton (The Cars), Alan White (Yes), David Ryan Harris (John Mayer), Simon Kirke (Bad Company), Jeff Foskett (Beach Boys) and many more. The four-day, life-changing experience offers individuals the opportunity to live out the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll fantasy. Registration is now open for the Hollywood leg of the 10th Anniversary camp at www.rockcamp.com or 1-888-762-BAND.

Shedding their regular garb, whether it be business suits, scrubs or uniforms, and dawning ripped jeans, rock t-shirts and leather jackets, ordinary people have found the rock star buried deep in each of them at Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camps passed. Taking the Guitar Hero thrill to an entirely new level, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp creates a rock star experience like no other, making it a reality for those who have only dreamed about it. From the second campers wake up to the second they go to bed, they aren’t just dreaming a dream but they’re living the life of their rock idols.

“Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp was, as billed, a life-changing experience. To say that it was perfect would be an understatement,” said past camper Jonathan Weiswasser. “What drew me the most was the ability to play with Bill Wyman and Jack Bruce, but I left with the fondest memories of jamming with Jon Lord, and getting to know the other counselors so well. Words really do not do it justice. The experience was nothing short of brilliant.”

The Hollywood camp will be held at a major rock and roll studio, and will culminate in a live concert at L.A.’s legendary House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. With each camper assigned to a band led by a rock star counselor, this unforgettable experience brings music lovers of any skill level together with professional rockers for the chance to share the limelight and the stage with some of rock’s most influential legends. Participants will be treated like rock stars for four days when they live the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle day in and day out, learning or perfecting the knowledge of an instrument, practicing and jamming with their band mates and learning the ins and outs of the music business. Highlights include playing and writing an original song, performing live on stage to a sold out audience, a souvenir DVD for each camper of their own jam at the final night, daily jam sessions with the stars, master classes in drums, bass, guitar, songwriting, etc. and much more. The camp welcomes drummers, bass players, guitarists, vocalists, horn players, keyboardists, songwriters and more. For campers who don’t play an instrument, but rather learn the “biz,” there are plenty of roles to be filled including stage manager, tour manager, tour assistants, etc.

“This is such a big honor,” said Beach Boys’ creative genius Brian Wilson, “To get to be here and hear all this great music.”

“After a great start in Las Vegas, we look forward to bringing the rock ‘n’ roll experience to campers in Hollywood to continue the 10th Anniversary celebration,” said David Fishof, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp founder. “What we have accomplished in camp in the past 10 years is only the start. Participants in Hollywood are going to realize that playing to a sold out crowd at the legendary House of Blues or jamming alongside Brian Wilson or Nick Mason is something that only Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp can deliver and I am proud to be able to give them this experience.”

Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp was dubbed the “Most Amazing Rock ‘n’ Roll Lifestyle Experience” by The London Times and “Brilliant” by Good Morning America. The camp has been featured on popular television sitcoms such as Ellen, where Ellen DeGeneres jammed with Bonnie Raitt and David Crosby, and in a celebrated tribute on The Simpsons where Homer goes to Fantasy Camp and jams with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Tom Petty and Elvis Costello.

ABOUT ROCK ‘N’ ROLL FANTASY CAMP
Debuting in Miami Beach in 1997 featuring Nils Lofgren and Clarence Clemens of the E Street Band, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp has evolved into a cultural phenomenon, giving participants a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to jam and record with the greatest rock legends from Paul Stanley of KISS and Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones to Slash of Velvet Relvolver, Roger Daltrey of The Who, and Joe Walsh of The Eagles. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp concept was conceived by David Fishof, who, for 25 years, has produced some of the most successful and original rock tours including Ringo’s All-Starr Band for 15 years, the Dirty Dancing tour, The Monkees 20th Anniversary tour, the Happy Together tour and many others. In addition to providing an exceptional experience, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp is proud to have raised over $250,000 and provided multiple scholarships for various charities. A recent deal had been made with Elisabeth Murdoch’s UK media company, Shine, to produce a television series based on the camp and its life-changing qualities.
