Deaji making hip-hop waves

Breaking News! DEAJI's Debut single, "The Circus" moves up 25 spots in just 7 weeks on the Urban/Hip-Hop TOP30 charts! "THE CIRCUS" rockets from #41 to #16 with a bullet, putting DEAJI in the same company with Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and others.
"Diary of a Starving Artist," is shaping up to be one of the hottest records of this coming year. So who is DEAJI and what is "Diary of a Starving Artist?" Born in Flint, Mi DEAJI began his quest for hip-hop supremacy in 1991, then known as 2face. He was performing in local clubs before he was legally able to be in them.
The true story began in 1996 when the death of his brother birthed the man known as DEAJI THE LEGEND. DEAJI has been perfecting his craft for years and has developed into a talented songwriter/producer. He was an on-air DJ for the popular Flint, Mi station 92.7 and has performed at various clubs and seminars all across the country.
DEAJI's debut LP "Diary of a Starving Artist" is a living diary of what he's seen and lived. His life and his innermost feelings are revealed all throughout this 14 track masterpiece. On standout cuts such as "Money and Fame," "City of Angels" and "They Forgot About Us" you will hear the perspective of a man who's lived in one of the roughest neighborhoods in America, surrounded by death and poverty. Yet somehow DEAJI's words do not promote violence, crime and disrespect towards women. His words are meant to uplift his people and revitalize the current state of hip-hop, which has recently been plagued with negativity and a lack of substance.
Based on the popularity of the first single "The Circus" and the perseverance of his record label Frontstreet Records, DEAJI has achieved a 4.7 rating out of 5 stars on the internet site Garage Band, has accumulated well over 100,000 plays on Clear Channels website, has over 22 internet stations playing his music, and has over 50,000 plays on MYSPACE. DEAJI also has numerous college and commercial stations playing the music as well. Deaji's musical influences include Jay Z, Outkast, Rakim, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Stevie Wonder, Maze, Frankie Beverly, Prince, and Teena Marie, just to name a few.
DEAJI describes himself as a true fan of the art of music. He says "true music is more than a part of life; it's a part of the soul", and he is ready to share his soul with the world. So, if you are ready to find out what has been missing in hip hop, look no further. The truth is here, DEAJI THE LEGEND ...
