Drake, The-Dream, Mike Posner and AUDacity release new albums

Drake: Thank Me Later
After Drake originally planning to release his official debut album, Thank Me Later, in late 2009, the album's release date was postponed, first to March 2010, then May 25, 2010. Universal Motown then stated the album had been pushed back three weeks for a June 15, 2010 release.

The album, was finally released on June 15, 2010. Drake collaborated with artists such as Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, T.I. and Lil Wayne to create the album. So far to date the record has sold more than 447,000 records, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200, and becoming his first release to sell that amount in his first week sales. While he fell short of the expectations of many, Drake’s showing is rather impressive in an era where selling 100,000 copies of an album in one week could earn you the number one slot, compared to several years ago where numbers like Drake’s were fairly common.

The-Dream: Love King
After countless hits, The-Dream shares styles with the legendary songwriters he admires, such as Smokey Robinson and Prince. But when it comes to his solo music, The-Dream remains every man’s secret weapon—capable of soothing, sweet-talking, and seducing over the course of a single verse

On his third solo album, Love King, The-Dream ups the ante, focusing his considerable talents on making hits for the long haul,. He is working with fellow Atlantan T.I., and “Make-Up Bag,” on which The-Dream sounds more like a dedicated husband than a libidinous lothario. “I’d rather it have a chance to last,” he explains. “Everything with me is about getting something ready to last.” For more information about The-Dream go to:

AUDacity: The Cool TapeAudacity is a one of a kind performer and is also one of the few U.S. born Iranian rapper/producers in mainstream hip-hop today. His break out hit ‘JAY-Z’s Girl’ brought him quick attention in the underground scene. He continues to receive rave reviews from his unique music videos which tend to touch upon topics including comedy, sex, fashion, and even politics. Ultimately, his sound can be described as “Quality Pop” based on the fact that it combines elements of Vintage Hip Hop, Electronica, Rock n Roll, and R&B, signifying the "Cool Dude Sound". Additionally, he is also introducing his company 'Cool Dude Entertainment,' Inc., which is essentially an extension of the movement he is creating as a solo artist. Some of the notable tracks from his latest MixTape entitled “The Cool Tape” include “Captain AU (Taking Over)”, “Yo Mama” and the tribute to Michael Jackson called “We’ll Always Love MJ“.

He notes his main influences as being Michael Jackson, R.Kelly, KRS-One, Rick James, Puff Daddy, Wham, DJ Quik, Stevie Wonder, Ice Cube, Big L, Kid n' Play, Spice 1, and of course Jay-Z. Many of the tracks pay tribute to music from the 80’s and 90’s but also to artists such as Puff Daddy, Rick Springfield, David Ruffin, Grace Jones, Wham, Bobby Brown, and the ‘New Jack Swing’ era. His signature sound has been garnering a lot of attention and AUD was voted best new breakout artist last month in Soundrelease.com. AUDacity is currently touring in California.
