Manda Mosher to celebrate album release at Hotel Cafe

Manda Mosher and Red Parlor Records announce the release of City of Clowns on August 10, 2010. An ode to her hometown, the EP is a follow up the 2009 debut album Everything You Need of which American Songwriter magazine proclaimed "beautiful, compelling melodies with poignant lyrics sung with a sensual, sultry authority- this is good, this is now."

Manda will take to the road to promote her new EP with fellow artist Ashley Raines for their In Lieu of Flowers Tour. A collaborative road show, the two songwriters will take turns backing each other up in showcasing their respective material. The pair will head across the West Coast hitting stops in California, Oregon, and Washington, then make their way through Utah and New Mexico and on to several dates in New York. Kicking off the tour in Creede, CO and ending in Evergreen, CO, a host of Colorado dates are peppered throughout the tour.

The Santa Barbara News Press described Manda's music as "an alluring sound, somewhere between artful pop and a harder, rock space." Manda finds herself in the midst of the musical world of Tom Petty, Lucinda Williams and Kathleen Edwards. There is rock, there is roots and soul, and there are solidly crafted songs. Her second release for Red Parlor, the new EP is an honest stripped-down recording of Manda and her band, reflecting where she is now and the urge to be as close to her true live sound as possible. A Los Angeles native and 6th generation Californian, the song City of Clowns is a full circle reflection of Manda's ongoing struggle to maintain her true identity while accepting the city where so many are not what they seem.

Manda's single City of Clowns will go to radio on July 12th. Manda's previous album Everything You Need was nominated for 2009 Hot AC Album of the Year.

He hopped boxcars and taught himself any instrument he could get his hands on, recording his songs on four-track reel-to-reel machines which he sold while performing on the street.
